What's been going on?
Wellll, it's been a while since I last blogged. I'm behind. I've been in school two weeks and I am already a little more crazy than when I started! :) It's Sunday morning and we're not up to much, just watching football- Go Broncos!
Since I last checked in, we've had a lot going on. For Labor Day, we were supposed to go to KY for family time, but Dick got really sick and we didn't make the trip. Thankfully, he's home and doing better now!
In place of that trip, we had a happy hour (Fri.) with people from work, then went to eat mexican food at an AWESOME place called Maria Elena's, then headed out to Fibar's. On Saturday, we watched football at Double Ds (http://www.doubledssports.nv.switchboard.com/) with Erica and Carson, then we went up to the city for a great evening with Nicole and Tejada! We ate at Gaspare's (http://www.gasparespizza.com/index.html), which was really great, and then we went down the street to a "pub" called The Nag's Head. It was the funniest place (read, strange) and we had a great time playing 24, drinking strange shots given to us by "d*mn Jenny," and repeatedly calling everyone in San Diego on their cellphones! :) Sunday we had a BBQ here with E and C and Erica, Justin, and Alanna. We made home-made ribs, crab rangoon (minus the crab), Brookville corn, and risotto balls and we all ate too much! We also played a bunch of games, which included 31, poker, Dance-Dance Revolution (huh?!), and Trivial Pursuit DVD- it was a fun evening, but probably more than we needed after Saturday night! On Monday, we watched "Little Miss Sunshine," which was a fun movie. (The week before we saw "Invincible" with Marky-Mark and it was enjoyable. Three weeks ago, we saw "The Illusionist" and we both really liked it!)
This week at school, I kept having students adding to my classes. For the first time in my tenure at this school, I am topped out! What does that mean? It means that my classes are at the maximum capacity allowed by my contract- 180 student-contacts per day. Agh! That's just plain crazy to me! (Three years ago, I never would have believed it!) I almost have all of their names down and I think they are a pretty positive group, but I am going to have SOO much work to grade! Really, though, I am looking forward to this year and I think it will be a good one!
This weekend, we ate again at Maria Elena's (mmmm, fajitas) on Friday. Yesterday, we went out to "The Short Course" at Santa Teresa and E, C, and Andy played 9 holes. The weather was PERFECT and it was so nice to be out on the green course! Andy and Carson watched football all day (Our football pool has officially started and neither of us are winning yet- ouch!). In the evening, we all met out for Laura's birthday at Kyoto Palace ( http://www.kyotopalace.com/index.html) and then went over to Boswell's for drinks and dancing. It was a really fun evening!
I think I've got myself all caught up on here, so I'll just include some pictures and be done with this entry! Hope things are going well for everyone else, too! :)

Yeah, sorry we were party poopers and didn't join in on the drunk calling! Here's my question: Who are we going to be drunk calling when we are all there in a couple of weeks???
