More catching up on the blog...

Ryan and Grandma Jeanne have been here and we had great weekends with both of them! With Ryan, we went to Berkeley during the Cal/ UCLA game. On Sunday, we all went to Bay 101, so the boys could play poker. Then we ate tepanyaki at House of Genji, which tasted delicious! On Monday, we went to Santa Cruz for Marianne's ice cream, to the beach at Carmel, and to Cannery Row in Monterey. Our time together was nice and we can't wait until Christmas! Last weekend, Grandma Jeanne came and we took the dogs to Carmel on Friday for a run on the beach. Saturday, Grandma and I got our nails done, which we both really enjoyed. Saturday night, we headed out to Double Ds to watch the first KU basketball game. They are great at Double Ds because they gave Andy and I our b-ball game on one tv, while they put Grandma Jeanne's K-state/ Texas (WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?!) game on the neighboring tv. On Sunday, we cooked all day and had a week's worth of yummy leftovers! Last night, we had some friends over for poker (I won 75 cents!) and I think that I am finally caught up with the blog! We are both continually talking about how much we are looking forward to the Holidays (to seeing all of our family and friends) and hope that everyone is doing well!

Then what...

In October, we went with friends to the Cal Homecoming game in Berkeley. It was fun (and funny, since I was the driver and was able to laugh at all the others and their silly remarks- Bill and something about a BART train, I believe)! We also went to a housewarming party for a colleague from my school. That night was great because Andy taught Paige (my principal's youngest daughter) to make inappropriate faces! The last weekend in October, Andy went to KS for his Granny and Papa's 50th anniversary party and I went to Tahoe for some relaxation time with Erica and Carson. Andy had a great time getting together with friends and family- and eating at Minsky's! I had a wonderful time in Tahoe- the trees were changing colors, but the weather was still nice. Carson and I kayaked on the lake and then we all went out for dinner. I really had a good time- until I found a "new- and quicker- route" to get home, which landed me right in the middle of "THE RAIDER NATION" on Sunday afternoon, half an hour before game time- agh!

"Everyone Weekend- The End"

We were all sad when Mike and Theresa left on Sunday and sad again when Brant and Bridget left on Monday morning...but Andy and Beran still got in a round of golf on the short course Monday afternoon!

"Everyone Weekend- Part Deux"

Friday evening's festivities (which included gobbler shots and a late-night "Rocky" punch-fest) were great! Then, Saturday morning, the girls went for pedicures at Lavande. The boys headed up to the city for some football and cervezas. We all did some site-seeing in SF on Saturday- Nicole was an awesome tour guide and it was a perfect day in The City! I drove the rental minivan down Lombard street, we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge and through Sausalito, and we stopped by "Mrs. Doubtfire's" house. Then, we all met together at the hotel in Fisherman's Wharf (Thanks, Theresa and Mike!) where we watched the heartbreaking ending of the KU/ Nebraska game. That evening, we had tapas at Andalu and then went for drinks in the Mission at a cute corner pub. THIS IS THE SHIRT FROM ELIXIR, the pub- apparently, Dave Beran has been to this bar before! AAARRGGHH! :) On Sunday, we all rode the cable cars in SF and then headed home for Pizza My Heart and a movie ("The Guardian"- hmm, not the best cinematic work ever).

These are pictures from the weekend when our friends came to visit SJ and SF!
Friday night- in honor of Mike and Theresa's nuptials!

1987??

Hi! It seems like I haven't blogged since 1987! I have no excuse, other than that I have been kind of lazy and a little busy with work. :) Since I last checked in, we've had a fun, action-packed weekend with lots of friends from out of town (in September), we've been to Berkeley for the Cal Homecoming game, we've seen some good movies and watched two seasons of "Grey's Anatomy" on DVD (We love it!), and Andy went to Kansas and back, while I was kayaking in Tahoe with E and C! We've also both been keeping busy with work. Two weekends back, Ryan was in town from DC and the next weekend, Grandma Jeanne came (last weekend). Last night was poker night here and in four days, we leave for Thanksgiving! Wow, time's been flying while we've been having fun! I am going to try to post some fun pix from the past couple of months- since I've been so far behind!
